A Seed Growing

If I had to pick the one person who has most impacted our homeschooling journey, it would be Christine Miller of A little Perspective and Nothing New Press. Back when we began this journey, we had three children 4 and under, and were seeking a way to homeschool, glorifying God with a robust education, God gave Christine’s website, Classical Christian Homeschooling: it showed us how, gave us hope, kindled a Christ-exalting vision for us….

Every page of CCH has been a guidepost on our homeschooling journey, using both her 1000 Good Books List and All through the Ages as our guide through the library.

Of late, Mrs. Miller kindly nominated this quiet space for Thinking Blogger honors, writing that Holy Experience:
always reminds me that Scripture is a message from One who loves us, who is waiting for us to love Him back. Scripture is to be understood, yes, but then lived.”

Again, Christine has made me think… am I living the cosmic-shattering truths of the Good News; am I, a child of the living God, loving back the living God?

How can I live Scripture today?

I read these words last night while drifting off:

“The Christian life grows from a seed that’s planted in the actual soil of our muscles and brain cells, our emotions and our moods… The gospel life isn’t something we learn about and then put together with instructions from the manufacturer; it’s something that we become as God does His work of creation and salvation in us and as we accustom ourselves to a life of belief and obedience and prayer.” ~Eugene Peterson

Father, it is Spring. I don’t want to only talk about it. Or simply understand it. I want Spring to live, to grow, to become. As I prepare this heart seedbed today with obedience and prayer, do Your Work in me—let me become more like Jesus. I can feel new life stirring within.
