notes from around the gratitude community

…. a few notes gathered from around the gratitude community (check out these gift lists– they make a heart sing… and cry with the beauty of it all, beauty too often missed)…

with photos of a gratitude journal, a humbling gift of grace from beautiful Diane at a Circle of Quiet ….

Girl with a Gratitude:

A creative blog worth checking out: Whatever the date of the month is ( for example, September 19th) … that’s how many gifts she lists (19 blessings counted!)— What a way to wake up to the everyday miracles.

Phyllis says…

Listing gifts has literally changed my life.”

Yes , for me too, Phyllis… I think that why He asks us to give thanks in all things! And to begin is so simple: pop open a journal and begin writing down the gifts, just as you experience them, thanking God for each one…

He wants us to delight in Him—because it ultimately is what delights us…

Sara writes in an email:

“I began my own list of gifts this week…. It is amazing to just think of the gifts that are given to me each and every day that are not deserved or earned but there is even more power in actually writing them down.”

Diane, a dear and long-time friend who writes at one of the first blogs I ever read, A Circle of Quiet:

“If there is one thing I have learned about myself in the last two weeks it is that gratitude is easy to forget when I get stressed. So, late to the party but arriving right when I need it most, I plan to start blogging my gratitude…”

Oh, friend… you’ve struck on precisely why I write about gratitude… because too often my anxiety nearly chokes… Gratitude calms me, soothes me… centers me again on a Good God who is close, giving me exactly what I need….

The Offering of Thanksgiving

A deeply moving blog solely created for the purpose of: “That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.” Psalm 26:7
