"In the prison courtyard here,
One is grateful for little things,
Could gain be so easy as gratitude for little things?
::: oldest son's thoughtful fall arrangement, gift set out on table :::
::: youngest son's climb up into woods in last of fall light :::
::: the hauling in of the burlap sacks of potatoes... :::
::: .... yukon gold, earth's fine nuggets :::
::: a swing, a cat, and a bliss smile wrapped around it all :::
::: lantern light and banagrams and crocheting and hymn songs
and us all gathered close :::
::: spying with my little eye the colors of life :::
::: a little light streaming through :::
::: white on white, snow on snow :::
::: lonely remnant of all that's gone before :::
::: and always faith, always faith :::
::: with rings of warmth at day's end :::
"Test me, O LORD, and try me; examine my heart and my mind.
For your love is before my eyes...
(the gift of all these little things!)
that I may go in procession round your altar,
Singing aloud a song of thanksgiving
and recounting all your wonderful deeds."
(that also is gain, that is great gain... gain in You)
~ Psalm 26:2-7

Just grab a scrap of paper lying around and begin counting the blessings, with your own 1000 Endless Gifts:
Why begin your own One Thousand Gift List --(drop me a line if you do, and I'll add you either simply your name or a web link to the "1000 Endless Gifts" list -- it's a privilege to join you in giving Him all worship, all praise, all thanks...)
