Weekend Wanderings

In the fields this week….

… clearing off snow to ice patch below …

… family skating under moon and stars….
with cousins and aunt and uncle and Gram and dog …
… laughter ringing through winter night coming on…

… and, finally, later, happily tired, gliding across fields again,
towards home …

… leaving tracks behind …

Weekend Wanderings

1. As an atheist, I truly believe Africa needs God @ the London Times …

… a startling, refreshing column by an affirmed atheist exploring the undeniable difference God makes in the lives of people, of whole nations. Hundreds of comments are also worthy of scanning — enlightening insight into these times and our culture. If you ever needed confirmation of the value of missionary work…. an unforgettable piece.

2. If he could read that many books a year….

… we had to agree: if he wasn’t too busy, is anyone too busy? … (we read this one at the breakfast table to a ring of grinning young bookworms)

3. Have you read any of the selections from Christianity Today’s Best Books of 2008?

4. The Raving Athiest, one of the web’s most popular atheist bloggers, has now become the Raving Theist

…. and it really is for real. He begins to share the story of his conversion here
