How to Choose your life

In other words, you choose your life, that is to say, you choose all the conditions of your life, when you choose the thoughts upon which you allow your mind to dwell."

~Anthony Bloom

I choose to dwell on the endless gifts... #1061-1085

child in kitchen, whipping up pudding, humming “Standing on the Promises of God”

Dollops of whip cream

laughing so hard our sides hurt

Making

Adults pumping swings higher

Taking new-to-us back roads

squall of seagulls

Wooden paddles

Flap of sails

Boys floating on inner tubes and summer

Boardwalks

water's happy voice when it meets sand

Picnic baskets

rubbing goosebumps off little legs

Sand baked toes

Grey hair holding bouncing pig tails

Old legs

The way she watches people

Families

Towels with hoods

Canes

Straw hats

Geese skimming water

stone engraved with love, a son-gift... one to carry home and keep,
stone heart melting mine

"
We are transformed by the renewing of our minds....
So now you will see that your mental diet is really the most important thing in your whole life."
~Anthony Bloom

The Plan

In the experiences of a simple/crazy life,
farming Canadian dirt, raising
half a dozen exuberant kids,
stringing sheets out on the line....

I'm praying to slow and see
the sacred in the chaos,
the Cross in the clothespin,
the flame in the bush.

Just a bit of
listening, laundry, liturgy...
life.
