Feast

The lights lies down in the harvest and we carry it in, heap the plates and savor the rain, chew on the wind, swallow down the dew and the days of July.

In late October, we bow our heads and give thanks and again eat the miracle and I don't think I really understand the wonder of His Feast.

more multitudes on a Monday
... endless counting of 1000's of gifts ... feast snippets...

#1220- #1237:

Raindrops on tin .... Her brushing on blush, giggling .... Pumpkins by hearth ...

Warm feet

Boys snapping fingers, swaying, singing too loud ... Screens that move... His stubble

Celebrating 75th birthdays and the wrinkles of old men ...

Mama bringing cookies

Hairbands and girl curls ... Smile of the mailman ... Fall plinking in puddles

Her finding my lost screw (literally!) -- arm of specs reattached ... Library renewals

Wavering wicks ...

Soup and biscuits, biscuits and soup, soup, soup, biscuits, biscuits

Long stillness

Seek to cultivate a buoyant, joyous sense

of the crowded kindnesses of God

in your daily life

The Plan

In the experiences of a simple/crazy life,
farming Canadian dirt, raising
half a dozen exuberant kids,
stringing sheets out on the line....

I'm praying to slow and see
the sacred in the chaos,
the Cross in the clothespin,
the flame in the bush.

Just a bit of
listening, laundry, liturgy...
life.
