Homeschool Routines and Rhythms

`W
hat sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the soul.'

-- Joseph Addison

You learn to speak by speaking,
to study by studying,
to run by running,
to work by working;
and just so, you learn to love by loving.

All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves.

- Saint Francis de Sales

Addendum: Another addition to Every Day Learning Links, links to online pages that update with new educational information daily. (HT: To kind reader, Debra (you folks are the best!):

Absolutely fantastic!

And as we're rutting a path to that post, perhaps it's easier for your children too to find a graphic over to the Everyday Learning Links? ... A navigational guidepost... (ours in the bottom margin...)

And may I humbly thank the kind folks who nominated this quiet corner of the web in the 2009 Homeschool Blog Awards? Over at The Post, I've been grateful for the opportunity to vote and show my appreciation to many long-time bloggers who have significantly shaped our life-long learning by their online ministries... and the delight of discovering some new-to-me blogs. It`s a good gathering hole to thank old friends and meet some new ones!

Again -- thank you. This journey of mothering and discipling and home educating is the richer in the shared companionship. Thank you for taking the broken and grace-bathed and choosing to travel together.

The Plan

In the experiences of a simple/crazy life,
farming Canadian dirt, raising
half a dozen exuberant kids,
stringing sheets out on the line....

I'm praying to slow and see
the sacred in the chaos,
the Cross in the clothespin,
the flame in the bush.

Just a bit of
listening, laundry, liturgy...
life.
