you asked what's in the camera bag?

Disclaimer:

Humbly, and obviously, I'm not a photographer in any way, shape, or form.... I don't have a Photoshop or Lightroom, I don't shoot in manual, and it's apparent I know very little about the mechanics and intersection of ISO, Aperature, Exposure etc... I only know what moves me and so I click a shutter. For me, photography is a way of seeing, and seeing is a way of faith. By sharing that personal process of snapping the shutter, capturing His Daily Art, I humbly and sincerely do not mean to belittle the true art of countless bloggers who are *real* photographers.

But you were asking?

All personal photos up to August of 2009 , a compact point and shoot:
Fujifilm FinePix F30

Photos after August 2009 (birthday gift from kind Husband): Nikon D90 with this one lens: Nikon 50mm f/1.4D

(My humble thanks to my sister, who knows much more than I do and takes far better photographs than I do, who pointed in the direction of that lens).

With both cameras, my research began with the TIPA awards ---"the most coveted photo and imaging awards in Europe" -- the Oscars of photography. Under Awards History, select according to your preferred category (compact or DSLR etc) and then scroll through the winners to begin your research of the best camera in your category.

And too, I researched on this fascinating German site: scroll down, select the two cameras you are comparing, and it will give you side by side photos in various conditions, which help in the decision making process...

Thank you for the grace to just humbly and simply explore faith and beauty and art and God and domestic life in this quiet space... to click a shutter and scratch down a heart...

The Plan

In the experiences of a simple/crazy life,
farming Canadian dirt, raising
half a dozen exuberant kids,
stringing sheets out on the line....

I'm praying to slow and see
the sacred in the chaos,
the Cross in the clothespin,
the flame in the bush.

Just a bit of
listening, laundry, liturgy...
life.
