The Unearthed Treasure That You Likely Could Dig Up in Your House

Whisper snow falls in slow out the window and here I’ve unearthed greater than Rosetta Stone, lost library of Nineveh, etched code of Hammurabi, the discovery of each that rewrote all the annals of the ages.

Snow falls and I have heard and I have held the unaltered words of Almighty.

God hath said.

I turn pages that rewrite my life and I’m lit, kind of joy that lights eyes, recognition of a long forgotten language. This Scripture is native tongue, words the heart speaks. Who wouldn’t cup this, this, cherished possession, very Word of Very God in very hands?

Why do I often think that some slick emotional experience will induce joy rather than reading and obeying my Father's Word, my mother tongue?

Holy Script and Homo Sapiens, we are kin, both birthed of His breath.

So is any wonder that kin Scripture completes our joy?

Words are how He unveils Himself, Daddy meeting Child. “… the Lord revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the Lord” ( 1 Sam. 3 :21).

In the arc and bend of letters, the Lord reveals the curves of His face, the Light of His eye, the depths of His beating, bleating heart.

The snow dusts the rooftops, all down the steps, there out on swing, world covering still.

Here by the window I have uncovered and I am laid bare and I am blanketed in Love.

They are not just idle words for you — they are your life. ~Deu. 32:47

The Plan

In the experiences of a simple/crazy life,
farming Canadian dirt, raising
half a dozen exuberant kids,
stringing sheets out on the line....

I'm praying to slow and see
the sacred in the chaos,
the Cross in the clothespin,
the flame in the bush.

Just a bit of
listening, laundry, liturgy...
life.
