Six (More) Ways for a Family to Celebrate Easter

1. Slip off to the quiet of the maple sugar shanty and touch the tapped trees. Listen to the slow drip of the sweet that runs from the trees...

And remember the Sweetest Grace that flowed down a Tree was on Calvary...

Taste long of a spoonful of maple syrup -- and know His love is far sweeter....

2. Pour chocolate into Cross molds and reflect on how we might not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds... that we might be shaped into the image of Beauty Himself.

3. Fold magazine paper into butterflies and celebrate new life, new spirit, new wings to soar into forever... butterfly tutorial here.

4. Make Empty-Tomb Buns

Annually anticipated, these empty-tomb buns not only are first served on Easter Sunday morning, the centers a sticky sweet hollow where the marshmallow was before baking, but make a baske of these buns make thoughtful, tasty gifts for neighbors over Easter weekend...

Recipe here...

5. Look for new life. Bring new life inside. Plant new life, water new life, grow new life.

Inhale new life.

6. Come to the Cross.

Linger at the Cross.

Lay your hand on the wood of the Cross...

Nail a note of your gratitude for Grace into a piece of wood... Listen to the hammer ring.

And let the shadow of Hope fall across your life... your new and forever redeemed life.

The Plan

In the experiences of a simple/crazy life,
farming Canadian dirt, raising
half a dozen exuberant kids,
stringing sheets out on the line....

I'm praying to slow and see
the sacred in the chaos,
the Cross in the clothespin,
the flame in the bush.

Just a bit of
listening, laundry, liturgy...
life.
