A Thanksgiving Prayer: A Prayer for Mealtimes
We sit at these tables piled high with feast and we taste of God.
We pass from hand to hand, the nuggets from earth, the sweet from the summer, and we drink down the rain and savor the sky and swallow down warmth of the sun.
And for the the farmer who grew this food who knows his labor is all only grace of heaven, we thank God.
And for us around around this table who know we eat nothing short of a holy wonder, we bow our heads and we give thanks for this daily miracle of manna, our bodies and hunger and lives fed straight from the good hand of God.

…{for this} perfectly good food God created to be eaten heartily and with thanksgiving …
Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks.
